Hazard Assessment of Ores and Concentrates for Marine Transport, a recent publication by the ICMM (International Council on Mining & Metals) follows latest amendments to shipping codes by the International Maritime Organization, with emphasis on understanding risks to ships’ crews and the marine environment from all bulk cargoes; including alloys, ores and concentrates.
This new guidance (link here) will assist IMnI’s members in complying with shipping regulations, whilst promoting a consistent and responsible approach across the mining and metals industries. Our Regulatory Affairs Manager, Keven Harlow, contributed to the writing of the document.
Information and tools for compliance with MARPOL Annex V (marine pollution) for Mn ferroalloys and Mn ores is also available here.
