The international metals industry, including IMnI, has been instrumental in helping the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Chemicals Dialogue (APEC CD) organise a two-day risk assessment workshop in the Philippines (28-29 August) that will benefit all metals. The APEC Economies are an important region for mining and metals production and this workshop is intended for regulators and industry to provide training to increase scientific knowledge of the hazard and risk assessment of metals and metal compounds. The workshop will also provide a platform for increased regulatory cooperation and tools to effectively use, or adapt, risk assessment methodologies in the region.
Principally, this Risk Assessment (Metals) Workshop will be a forum for:
- building capacity among decision-makers and industry by creating regulatory coherence and cooperation;
- enhancing the sound scientific risk assessment of metals and metal compounds.
