Sunite Right Banner Xinmeng New Materials Co., Ltd. was officially established in 2013. After more than ten years of development, it has currently put into operation three 66,000 kVA silicomanganese furnaces and one 48,000 kVA high-carbon ferromanganese furnace. The remaining furnace is scheduled to be put into operation before September 2026. After commissioning, the five new furnaces and the existing two 33,000 kVA fully enclosed submerged arc furnaces will have a total production capacity of 670,000 tons. The company has also obtained approval for an inorganic fiber project with an annual output of 240,000 tons, using silicomanganese slag to produce rock wool and further process it into inorganic fibers.
In terms of new energy, the company has established a new energy technology company and obtained approval for the Inner Mongolia's first source-grid-load-storage integrated wind power project. The project will build a 550 MW wind-solar-storage facility, equipped with 55 10-MW wind turbines and 400 MW of energy storage. Combined with tail gas waste heat power generation, the total power generation will be about 2.2 billion kWh, meeting 70% of the company's total electricity consumption. Phase I 300 MW wind power and 60 MW/240 MWh energy storage have been successfully connected to the grid; Phase II 250 MW is scheduled to start construction at the end of August 2026 and achieve full-capacity grid connection by the end of 2026.
The company's main customers are major steel mills. Its sales model combines futures and spot transactions and also involves cooperation with traders. By 2028, the company's total manganese product capacity is targeted to reach 800,000 tons, striving to rank first in the industry. In 2027–2028, the company plans to invest RMB 6.332 billion to build a 500,000-ton lithium-ion battery graphite anode material project, and simultaneously invest RMB 5.3 billion to build a 1.125 GW wind + 30 MW solar source-grid-load-storage integrated project. It also plans to invest RMB 8 billion to build projects such as 500,000-ton ferroalloy tail gas-to-green methanol, CO2 capture, and 500,000-ton hydrogen energy castings. At the same time, it will invest RMB 28.1 billion to build a 7 GW wind + 2 GW solar source-grid-load-storage integrated project and a 10 GW molten salt energy storage project, to be used for wind and solar hydrogen production and for combining hydrogen with ferroalloy waste heat and tail gas to produce methanol, realizing an industrial cycle of hydrogen steelmaking.
