IMnI just published a report on ESG factors of the Manganese alloys value chain
The project, performed in collaboration with the consulting company Sphera, aimed to identify, measure, and assess Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors associated with manganese alloys throughout the entire value chain, from ore mining to the production of Mn alloys. These factors were categorized by country, with a focus on China, India, and the Rest of the World.
The manganese alloys under consideration included High-carbon Ferromanganese (HC FeMn), Ferromanganese (FeMn), and Silicomanganese (SiMn). The project was based on first-hand data provided by IMnI Mn alloy member companies, obtained through a specially designated survey, as well as second-hand data derived from publicly available information of these companies.
In total, data from the IMnI Group as a whole, comprising 25 IMnI Mn alloy member companies, was evaluated and assessed against 24 selected key performance indicators (KPIs) that span across the ESG, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative methods. The target audience for this study includes IMnI Members, manganese producers, initial and end-users, legislators, academia, LCA practitioners, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and more.
