Annual review

A report published by the International Manganese Institute compiling the main news of the institute and the Manganese industry in 2025. 

Looking back at 2025, we are proud to share a year marked by significant achievements and continued momentum:

  • Our membership remained near record levels (128 Member companies), with 13 new Members joining during the year.

  • An exceptional IMnI Annual Conference in Tokyo last June, drawing a record attendance of over 240 international delegates from 120 companies across 35 countries.

  • A successful networking night, in Paris (February).

  • A banquet dinner exclusively for IMnI Members in Bangkok (April).

  • A networking cocktail for IMnI Members in Barcelona (November).

  • A well-attended webinar providing guidance on manganese sustainability, regulatory updates (including CBAM), and low-carbon manganese production.

Throughout the year, the IMnI continued to deliver authoritative statistics, research, and publications for Members, including:

  • Publication of the most accurate manganese market data, based on statistics collected directly from manganese producers.

  • Denser research into supply, demand, and trends of battery-grade manganese destined to rechargeable traction batteries.

  • Publication of IMnI-funded scientific studies strenghtening the HSE and sustainability dimensions of manganese.
