Why HSE topics matter to the IMnI
HSE DEPARTMENT
The HSE Department is overseen by the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Committee – IMnI's longest-standing committee, comprising representatives from ten member companies who convene two to three times per year.
Their mision is to position the IMnI as the foremost platform for providing the Mn industry with essential guidance, tools and information to anticipate health, safety and environment demands, while enhancing worker safety, sustainability and profitability accross the industry. This mission is driven by three primary objectives:
- To identify HSE issues that can impact the manganese industry and deliver effective solutions.
- To establish and maintain a global network that provides the IMnI with specialized HSE expertise when needed.
- To equip members with relevant information and support, enabling them to proactively protect their interests in response to emerging regulatory requirements.
The initiatives of the HSE Committee are guided by its Chairman, working closely with the IMnI's HSE & Regulatory Affairs Manager.
HSE PROJECTS
The projects and research intiatives led by the HSE Committee are selected based on the interests of the IMnI Members and the voting of the HSE Committee members. These initiatives are typically identified through interactions between IMnI members and the HSE & Regulatory Affairs Manager, as well as with HSE Committee members, scientific networks, other commodity associations, and relevant stakeholders.
