High Purity Mn Committee
OVERVIEW
- Promoting the use of manganese in batteries, including but not limited to batteries used in electric vehicles (EVs),
- Collecting information about manganese compounds used in batteries,
- Cooperating with batteries producers, carmakers and with government departments and research institutes on topics including manganese used in batteries.
Policy:
The High purity Manganese Committee shall be responsible for the organization and guidance of IMnI’s activities relating to manganese used in batteries.
Jean-Thibault de Besombes
Jean-Thibault de Besombes serves as Senior Director, Strategy & Product Management for the Advanced Materials division of Vibrantz, a specialty chemicals and materials solutions company and leading producer of manganese-based battery materials.
He has over 10 years of experience in the manganese chemicals industry through various commercial and strategy leadership positions in Erachem Comilog and then Prince International Corporation which is now Vibrantz. Prior to that, he worked as a strategy consultant. Jean-Thibault holds two Master of Science degrees from Ecole Polytechnique (France) and California Institute of Technology (USA).

IMnI Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of OM Materials Singapore
Adrian Low has worked at OM Holdings, a vertically integrated manganese ore and ferroalloys company, for over 10 years and currently serves as the Managing Director of OM Materials Singapore, the group marketing and procurement arm.
Throughout his tenure, Adrian has held various positions and currently assumes responsitility for general sales and procurement, market research, and business development, with a secondary function in corporate strategy and relations.
Adrian holds a Master's in Finance from Princeton University and a bachelor's in Mathematics from the University of Chicago

Laurent MONTCOUTIE
Executive Director
A French national, Laurent has more than 20 years of experience in the metals industry. His metals career started at Eramet where he held various leadership positions in Tokyo, Paris, Taipei and then Shanghai.
More recently, Laurent ran from Singapore the Asian non-ferrous metals book of a Swiss commodities physical trading house, prior to leading from France partnership development and metal feedstock procurement in the traction battery value chain.e.

Eva Yang
China Representative
Eva Yang joined the IMnI in August 2018 as China representative. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Anhui University of Technology. Prior to joining IMnI, she has worked for Eramet Comilog and OM Holdings over the last years, and already knows most of the Chinese IMnI Members. Eva's mission is to further improve the market research coverage of the Chinese market, facilitate networking between China and the rest of the world, and organise IMnI events in China.

Miao Yu started at the International Manganese Institute in 2021 as Market Research Analyst, and is in charge of collecting information on the manganese, steel and battery markets, in China and in the rest of the world.
